On May 21 st , Gus Olsthoorn from Creation Ministries International gave a presentation on Creation vs. Evolution at Calvary Christian Academy where the Beckwith RPC church worships every Lord’s day. Around one hundred and ten people from the Almonte, Beckwith, Ottawa, and Russel RP churches attended, including individuals and families from the community and other churches. Mr. Olsthoorn gave an hour and a half long presentation discussing CMI’s purpose and mission, Creation vs. Evolution, how science helps prove Creation, and the importance of preaching and believing the entire Bible and using it to inform science. He also discussed several of the points that prove Creation, such as fossilization, fossil fuels, and other effects from the Flood.
There was a brief Q & A session where several good questions were asked and discussed, and a few people in the audience even got out Bibles to answer a question concerning genealogies.
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed fellowship and the plentiful tables of charcuterie board food and drinks. A few tables full of books, DVD’s, and pamphlets from Creation Ministries were available for purchase, which many people looked at, bought, and asked questions about. It was a huge blessing to everyone to be able to attend this event! Valuable knowledge was gained from the presentation, Q & A session, fellowship, and literature. Believers were strengthened in their faith and better equipped for witnessing and any unbelievers possibly present heard a clear case for a biblical worldview.
Our thanks to Adeline Jeffrey, a highschool student who attends Beckwith RP with her family, for writing this article for us.
