The Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, recently held the 21st annual Westminster Conference. The central topic was GOVERNING ALL HIS CREATURES & ALL THEIR ACTIONS: God Executing His Eternal Degree of Providence.

The speakers for this excellent conference included RTPS faculty, Dr. Barry York presented “Preaching Lessons from John Flavel on How God ‘Taketh Care of his Church”, Dr. Jeffrey Stivason spoke about “Warfield and Wright on the Foresight of Jesus”, Dr. David Whitla spoke on “Wariston on Providence: Lessons on the Use and Abuse of God’s Decree from the Diary of a Covenanter”. Also speaking was Dr. Jonathan Master, President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. His topic was “The Depth of God’s Wisdom”, and Dr. Matthew Everhard, Adjunct Professor at RPTS, spoke on the topic of “Discerning the Providential Will of God: A Practical Theology of Obedience”.

Audio copies of the lecture will be available from the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals, one of the Conference’s long-time partners. You can find those here. Lord willing, transcripts of the conference will form the bulk of the next edition of the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Journal, available on the “Resources” tab at RPTS.edu. Conference attendees enjoyed warm hospitality organized by June Whitla, Special Events Coordinator, in the form of gallons of coffee and delightful snacks. Crown and Covenant Publications and Banner of Truth had well-stocked book tables with significant conference discounts.

Next year’s conference will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Pittsburgh on September 18-19, 2026. The topic is still to be announced. The administration of RPTS is grateful to Providence Presbyterian Church and the seminary staff for another successful Westminster Conference.
