Third-year theological student, Mr Kenny Stephenson, completed his final assessed preaching assignment a fortnight ago. Rathfriland RP Church, in County Down, Northern Ireland, hosted the service of worship on Tuesday 13th February, during which Mr Stephenson preached from Hebrews 13:7-16, taking as his theme, ‘Grace to Endure.’

A congregation of just under 100 peoplegathered to worship together. Mr Stephenson preached an encouraging and heart-warming sermon, emphasising our need to continually go to Christ ‘outside the camp’ for the grace we need to withstand, pressure and persecution in our Christian lives.

Following the service the congregation was welcomed to Rathfriland by Interim Moderator, Rev. Peter Dundee, who invited everyone to stay for a delicious supper in the church hall.

Mr Stephenson is completing his final term of study at Reformed Theological College, Belfast, before taking his exams later this spring. The Reformed Presbyterian Church of Ireland is currently praying that God will call and raise up more men for gospel ministry, with a growing number of congregations in need of a full-time teaching elder. The denomination’s College will be opening to new students again in September this year, Lord willing.
