Addiction is no doubt something that people have been conscious of, and suffering from, as long as the human race has existed. But in this century the opportunities and objects of addiction have expanded greatly, and often in relation to things that in themselves are not harmful.
In addition to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs we now have addition to phones, social media and video games to give some examples.
There are many problems related to this, addiction cause health problems, mental problems, relationship problems, they adversely impact on our ability to get on with normal life, work and then we have the spiritual consequences as well.
Our speaker will be Mr. Matthew Eccles, who has over 10 years’ experience in the health & social care field, working with people struggling with addiction. He has seen both the destructive grip of addiction & the lasting difference a biblical foundation can make in helping people rebuild their lives.
