Youth Camp 2025 was once again held at the Dixon’s Creek Campsite and was an enjoyable time for all. The camp was attended by over 20 campers from within the Reformed Presbyterian Church and other churches. Joel Blakston, an elder in the Geelong congregation, offered to organise and lead this year’s camp along with Beth Edwards, Amanda McCracken and Reuben Feldman in addition to Kate Kent, leader and chef for the weekend.

Fair weather enabled many fun adventures including a small hike in the beautiful gullies of Kinglake National Park, as well as a wander through a local vineyard. On Sunday, Gunavarma Tammu (Geelong RPC) spoke on Matthew 6:19-34, encouraging us to put aside our earthly worries and seek first the Kingdom of God. This theme was woven through the whole weekend. Campers also enjoyed time birdwatching, “looking at the birds of the air”, and appreciating native flowers “the lilies of the field” as a way of interacting with the theme and enjoying all that the Yarra Valley has to offer.

The youth enjoyed a balance of fun activities and down time, resulting in a fantastic and blessed weekend. The youth set up their own volleyball court, which was in constant use, and the evenings were occupied with bonfires and a movie. The Lord truly blessed His children, and we look forward to His blessing again at next year’s Youth Camp.

You can listen to some psalm singing from the weekend here.

Thanks to Reuben Feldman and Amanda McCracken for putting together this article.
