Give Thanks
- that we can hallow his name – treat as holy, honour, and glorify his name, because he has revealed to us who he is and what he has done in the world he has created.
- to God that he is a Spirit, infinite in being, glory, blessedness, and perfection; all-sufficient, eternal, unchangeable, incomprehensible, everywhere present, almighty, knowing all things, most wise, holy, just, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
Pray That we will Hallow God’s name By
- Being focused on what we are doing when we come to worship God. (Psalm 29:1, 2; John 4:23, 24; 1 Peter 2:9)
- Doing all we can to encourage worship that is indelibly marked with reverent and godly fear. (Deuteronomy 10:2; Psalm 2:11; Hebrews 12:28)
- Praying that the ministry of God’s Word would cut to the marrow of our being and bring the teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness in whatever measure God knows we need. (Hebrews 4:12, 13; 2 Timothy 3:16)
- Identifying specific sins in our lives and putting them to death ruthlessly. (Colossians 3:1-17)
- Living out the ‘one another’ commands in Scripture.
- Loving our wives as Christ loved the church, submitting to our husbands as the church submits to Christ, and not provoking our children to anger. (Ephesians 5:22-33; Colossians 4:18-21)
- Understanding that God will bring good to us through the trials and sufferings he ordains in our lives for his honour and glory. (James 1:1-8; Hebrews 12:3-17)
- Desiring the return of the Lord Jesus, that God’s glory will manifestly cover the whole earth. (Revelation 22:20)
