Senior Camp like always did not disappoint. It was an action-packed camp with 110 campers and around 20 committee members/cooks. The week was fun filled with a wide and varied programme put on by Douglas and Lorraine and their committee.
Each day after breakfast and personal devotions we had a talk from Rev. Joel Loughridge. The talks were on the Song of Songs which I have never really studied myself, so I found these talks most interesting and challenging. There was also a time for discussion afterwards which was really helpful because we got to hear and appreciate one another’s different views and thoughts about the talk.

Apart from the talks we also had a couple of seminars throughout the week. Rev Phillip Moffet gave us a talk about the famous Scottish sprinter/missionary Eric Liddell. Eric Liddell has always been one of my sporting heroes not only because of his obvious sporting talent but also because of his strong Christian faith and sacrificial missionary service, so it was great to learn more about him. We had another seminar on Tuesday evening from Mary McCollum who talked about her time as a teacher in a Sports Academy School in South Africa. I really enjoyed this seminar because it showed us how God has worked in Mary’s life so far in ways that she couldn’t imagine. It was also great to hear about the different students who go to the school and the impact that the school has had on their lives.

There was also a wide range of activities at camp this year. There was a return of some camp classics like messy games and competitive sports. The camp concert this year had some incredible performances and most notably a never seen before WWE match which was certainly a sight to see. Other activities throughout the week included a scavenger hunt around Armagh, a fort building evening, Go karting, mini golf, a trip to Prison Island and finally the camp social on the Friday evening which is always a great way to end the week.

Even with this action packed schedule there was still free time throughout the week to get to know and talk to people which is a big part of camp. Another highlight from the week was all the lovely food we had each day, which of course would not be possible without the great cook team. So I would like to give a massive thank you to them alongside Douglas and Lorraine and the committee. All in all this week at camp was a time of great spiritual blessing and I would like to give thanks to God who provided for all of our needs throughout the week.
