Girl’s Adventure Camp Reunion was a great blessing both to girls, officers and cooks. Our theme this year for our talks was on the story of Mary and Martha and our thoughts for the day were focused around what we, as women of God, are made for.

On Friday night, the girls arrived excited and ready for the weekend and there was some chill time offered to catch up with friends not seen since the summer and even make new ones. Anna Murphy gave the first of two talks on the story of Mary and Martha focusing on how we are made for fellowship with God and we shouldn’t let the busyness of life get in the way. Afterwards a craft was organised in which the girls decorated mugs and chatted with one another following a long and busy week.

Saturday started bright and early with a talk from Lois Kennedy on Mary, highlighting the need for consistency in quiet time and the importance of giving God space in our hearts and lives. We then set off for shopping in Coleraine town centre which was followed by a practical seminar by Deborah Coulter on the importance of Spiritual health alongside emotional and physical. After this, we set off again to Ballymoney swimming pool for a pool party!

We then came back and enjoyed a delicious dinner and the campers sat down for the great GAC records which included star jumps, paper aeroplane throwing and balloon bursting!

On sabbath morning, we had an enjoyable walk before worshipping in Dervock. The Dervock ladies kindly provided a delicious lunch for everyone after the service. The weekend finished with a psalm sing in which we were all very aware of the importance and encouragement of fellowship with each other.
