The Geelong RPC Sunday school term 3 was concluded with a session dedicated to learning of, appreciating, and praying for our Japanese sister congregations. The session was led by Jane Blakston. The children had opportunity to sing psalm 22 in Japanese, eat some sushi, and practice writing ‘friend’ in Japanese. Andrew Stewart followed this up in the children’s address during the worship service.

There were opportunities in term 4 to be more focused in the Sunday school classes considering brothers and sisters in Japan, particularly in the lead up to the RPCA sending a short term missions team to the RPCJ. The Japan Bridge Team actively seeks to ‘build a bridge’ between Australia and Japan, our closed Reformed Presbyterian neighbours.

Three members of the Geelong Reformed Presbyterian Church are on the ‘bridge team’: Jane Blakston, Alistair McEwen, and Reuben Feldman.

It’s a blessing to be able to foster relationships between our two countries, and we pray that God will use it to build relationships, kindle friendships, encourage each other to persevere in our labour for the Lord.
