We held a Bible Club at the end of June and welcomed over 60 primary school-aged children from the community each evening!

The children enjoyed games, craft and Bible stories from John’s gospel, showing the children how Jesus heals and restores. The memory verse for the week was 2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” and the theme Psalm was Psalm 147. These were shared with the parents on the last evening when they were invited to hear what the children had been learning. We pray for the children who attended and their families, that they would come to know Jesus as their Saviour.

It was lovely to have both younger and older members using their gifts to serve together.

In August, we held a week of activities, both as outreach and to develop relationships within the congregation. Each morning we had Bible studies on personal evangelism. Other activities included a walk, games night for the young people, a friendship lunch for those of retired age, and a meeting by Dr Andrew McKelvey on “Emotions: what are they and how can God use them?”.

The week concluded with a family fun day with inflatables, games and hotdogs, for families and friends who had attended the Bible Club, CY and Parents & Toddlers throughout the year. It was lovely to have many families join us. It was also a great week for the church family to spend time together in Bible study, prayer, encouraging one another and serving together. We pray that relationships with local families would continue to develop as we prepare for activities resuming in autumn.
