The Winter Midwest CY retreats are one of my favorite things to look forward to every year, especially when they’re over New Year’s Eve. This year, the winter retreat was held in Shawnee Kansas, where the congregants of the Shawnee RPC welcomed us warmly.

The speaker, Steve Rockhill, who is pastor of the Living Way RPC in Bryan, TX, spoke on the topic “Reformation for Life: Principles of Personal Reformation from Nehemiah”. It was a very encouraging time for the youth and sparked good conversation among all the discussion groups. In addition to the lectures, we also had a fair amount of free time in which we spent fellowshipping with one another through intense games of spikeball, volleyball, and basketball! There also was a fair amount of Psalm singing, along with a very helpful prescenting workshop led by the one and only Shanna Milroy.

On New Year’s Eve, all the youth gathered outside in the parking lot to count down the final seconds of 2022. We then joyfully welcomed in 2023 by praising the Lord in the spontaneous singing of 117B. Overall it was an amazing time of fellowship with our like-minded brothers and sisters in Christ.
