A little over a month ago, the members of the Great Lakes-Gulf Presbytery had the great joy of gathering for the ordination and installation of Jerry Foltz at Second Reformed Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Jerry graduated from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary and received a call from Second RPC to be their associate pastor later that year.
He and his wife Monica are from the Los Angeles RP church. Their former pastor in Los Angeles, Nathan Eshelman, was able to make the trip and preach for the Jerry’s ordination.

He preached a sermon titled, “Guard Your Heart” from Proverbs 4:23 reminding us that whatever we allow to enter our hearts will be expressed in our lives and actions – for good or for evil. The charge to the new pastor was administered by Pastor David Whitla and Second RPC’s current pastor, James Faris, gave the charge to the congregation.

After affirming the vows administered by Pastor Richard Johnston, Jerry was installed as the associate pastor of the congregation. Members of Presbytery and elders of the congregation laid their hands on Jerry as Elder Bob Bibby prayed for the new pastor.

It was a joy to see Jerry end the service with his first benediction as an ordained pastor. The service was concluded by the singing of Psalm 41, “how blessed the man who guides the poor by counsel strong and clear.” You can watch the full service here:
The congregation and members of Presbytery celebrated with Jerry and Monica after the service with fellowship and cake.
We are so thankful that the Lord provided a new associate pastor to serve at Second RP. Our prayer is that the Lord would bless and uphold Pastor Jerry Foltz as he ministers to the congregation in Indianapolis, Indiana.
