Joshua Smith

By the Lord’s grace I was raised in a Christian home under the faithful teaching of the Word in the Southern Baptist Church. I can honestly say I do not recall a day when I did not trust in the Lord. I made a profession of faith at age 5 and subsequently was baptized. Throughout my life the Lord has been working in me, showing me more and more my reliance upon the finished work of Christ and my need for the Spirit’s empowerment. At the age of 19 I left the SBC and joined the Presbyterian Church in America. It was there that the Lord taught me the importance of presbyterian polity and covenant theology. After 7 years in the PCA and intense personal study into the regulative principle of worship, the Lord brought me and my family into the RPCNA through the Birmingham, AL mission church. Through wise counsel, we made the move to Pittsburgh to complete seminary at RPTS. I do not know what the Lord has in store for the future, but I know He has brought me thus far, and He has a perfect plan ordained for me and my family as we seek to serve Him in whatever way we sees fit.
