The Reformed Theological College of the RPCI officially opened for its new term this week, but who are the new students? These are two young men, both of whom are married with young children, both of whom are keen to serve Christ and his bride but neither of whom have grown up in the denomination, so we asked them to introduce themselves. Read more below:
My name is Kenny Stephenson. I’m from the rolling hills of South Armagh. My wife Charlene and I (along with our two year old daughter Abigail) are members of Fairview Reformed Presbyterian Church in Co Monaghan. Since completing my education in 2006 I have been farming on the family dairy farm. Having had a desire to serve Christ and his church and feeling keenly her need of ministers, I presented myself to the Southern Presbytery of the RPCI. It was a privilege to be taken under care by them.
- For safety travelling to and from college
- Stamina to apply myself to the curriculum
- For safekeeping of my family, especially Charlene and our unborn baby who is due early 2022
- Finally, that through these studies I may be more and more conformed to the image of Christ.
My name is Jonny Fitzsimons. I have been married to Joanna since 2012 and we have been blessed with two children; Imogen and Jesse. For the last number of years I have worked as a property and block manager. We joined Trinity RPC in 2015 before moving to Woodstock RPC in 2017 to support the church planting work there.
Remember these men as they commence their three year course. Remember also Sam McDonald from Woodstock RPC, who had been accepted as a student for the ministry but had to defer for health reasons.
