Just before the Covid crisis struck one of our members asked,
“Can we be trained in evangelism”
This got the wheels turning. Fast forward to the summer of 2021 and Mark Spence from Living Waters Ministries arrived in rural south east Iowa. The Sharon RP Congregation hosted a one day intensive evangelism training seminar. The day consisted of 4 lectures, 2 break out sessions, and 3 Q&A times.
First, christians were challenged to “Battle Your fears.” Attendees were admonished not to give “The Wrong Message.” Later we were encouraged to share “The Proper Gospel.” Lastly, all of us were charge to, “Do something.”
There were lots of times to interact with and encourage one another. One surprising part of day of the diversity in the group. There were Lutherans, Baptists, non-denominational, Apostolics, and Reformed Presbyterians, & others in attendance.
We pray every week for God’s kingdom to come here on earth as it is in heaven. Our prayer is that God would have used this seminar to embolden His people with the gospel.
Please pray that those who attended the seminar would not only be hearers of the word but doers. May we never be ashamed of the Gospel for it is the power of God unto salvation for all who believe.
If anyone would like to watch the seminar, find books to read, videos to watch, or know where to buy gospel tracts feel free to go to our website: sharonrpc.org/evangelism
