RPCNA  |  Great Lakes/Gulf Presbytery  |  Orlando (Florida, USA)

Organized: December 1920

Elders: Pastor H. P. McCracken, James Pennington, Jonathan Schaefer, & Joseph Worsham

Members: 74 Communicant, 31 Baptized

Orlando RPC was founded, in downtown Orlando, in December 1920. Providentially, in all 100 years, services have been cancelled only twice, both cancellations prompted by hurricanes. God has blessed us with a wide range of ages, ranging from infants to nonagenarians.

About the Pastor

Pastor H.P. McCracken is in his ninth year of ministry in Orlando. Originally from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, he was raised by Christian parents and came to faith in his early years. After earning degrees in history and education at Geneva College, he went on to train to the ministry at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh. Rev McCracken and his wife Carly have three young children.

Church Life & Ministries

Church life in Orlando includes various Bible studies (including weekly Women’s Bible Study and bi-weekly meeting for young adults), monthly fellowship meals, and Sabbath School classes (preschool through adult). A picnic, talent show, dinner to honor graduates, and youth and young adult meetings provide additional opportunities to enjoy congregational fellowship.

Many members attend the five-day Covfamikoi family church conference hosted by our presbytery (Great Lakes/Gulf) in Kentucky, USA. Covfamikoi, first established in 1946, is usually held annually with breaks for the quadrennial RP International Conference.

Much of our most important and effective outreach and evangelism happens on a personal level as each of us ministers to friends and neighbors in our respective communities. But we also seek to be active in outreach as a church family. For example, we participate in a “walk for life” to support a local pregnancy support center and host “Movie in the Lot,” an outdoor movie with refreshments for neighbors. Our “Coffee on the Corner” monthly neighborhood outreach was detailed in the Nov/Dec 2019 issue of the RP Witness
