Sabbath was a very special milestone in the history of Trinity RPC (Newtownabbey, Northern Ireland). It didn’t make the headlines of even the local newspaper, but it was one of the most significant events to take place in Northern Ireland that day.
We ordained and installed four men as deacons in our congregation, to join the six men already serving: Jason Brown, John Clarke, Nigel Lytle and David Martin (pictured with their wives below).
The service was led by the Minister of Trinity, Rev Warren Peel and the sermon was preached by the previous Minister, Rev Ted Donnelly. You can listen to Rev Donnelly’s sermon entitled ‘The Service of The Church’ here.
Each of the four new deacons spoke briefly and warmly about their sense of the privilege and honour of being called to this work, thanking God and his people for entrusting them with it.
It was encouraging to see many visitors who had come to support the men on this solemn and joyful occasion. We give thanks to God for his gracious provision for our church and ask the whole denomination to pray for these men as they take up their work.
Warren Peel, Minister of Trinity RPC
