Cloughmills Reformed Presbyterian were disappointed to not be able to run our Holiday Bible Club as normal this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, however, we were very happy to be able to work with C.E.F. (Child Evangelism Fellowship) and share their 5-day club online.
Invites were sent out to families and advertisement posted on our church Facebook page. Craft packs and goody bags were made up ready for collection outside church on the first morning of our ‘club’. A few families were able to come and collect packs for their children and a few other packs were delivered.
Each morning for 5 days consecutively a video was posted on Facebook for public view. Different members from church introduced each day before sharing the Bible Club created by C.E.F. Over the 5 days, those who watched will have heard many truths from the Bible explained to them clearly by Andrew and the CEF team. The character ‘Truth Catcher’ helped remind us each day what the focus of learning was and there was also opportunity to take part in activities and crafts as well as learning John 3 v 16 and committing it to memory.
The gospel was explained clearly, telling about God, how he made us and loves us, how we all have sinful hearts and how God provided Jesus, his only son, to save us from the punishment our sins deserve and how he gives us hope through salvation as we trust in him. We have been praying that as children have tuned in online that they will have learned to love God more and trust in him.
Although club was very different this year, we are thankful for the technology we were able to use and are continuing to pray that those who have viewed our videos will be reached with the hope that the gospel brings. Many things in life have changed due to this worldwide pandemic but through it we have been given the wonderful opportunity to send the gospel into many homes. May God be using our online club and many other forms of christian service like this for his glory and honour!
