Last week, Dervock RP Church held three public meetings in the village Community Centre.
Revs. Mark Loughridge, Robert Robb and David Sutherland spoke on the issues of suffering, depression and grief respectively. The church wanted to address current issues from a biblical perspective in our community. As in many other parts of the UK and Ireland, the issue of depression in particular is growing in importance, with a record number of people being prescribed anti-depressants.
Each of the three men who spoke brought personal experience, up-to-date research and the truth of God’s Word to their talks. As a church we were very encouraged by the attendances on each night, particularly that friends, family and neighbours from the village attended. We pray that God will use the seed sown to shed the light of his truth on these complex challenges.
