At a meeting of the Pacific Coast Presbytery this week Christopher Myers stood to indicate his willingness to serve as the new pastor of Phoenix. We then proceeded to Mr. Myers’s ordination exams. He began with preaching a very good sermon from I Peter 1:15-17. That sermon was discussed, criticized (it was an examination) and positively voted on.
He then was examined in his personal godliness and his knowledge of reformed theology, with special emphasis on the distinctives of the RPCNA. Pastor Nathan Eshelman (Los Angeles RPC) gave his theology examination. He did well in both of those exams, and is scheduled to be ordained and installed on March 29 in Phoenix; the following day will be a retirement party for Rev. Jon Maginn. You are warmly invited to both events!
