On Tuesday, December 04, the Midwest Presbytery held a reception service where we administered the vows of communicant membership to the members of Grace Reformed Church in Columbia, Missouri (formerly of the Free Church of Scotland, Continuing).
There is a five man Temporary Governing Body (TGB) in place to oversee the work and nurture the congregation towards becoming a particular congregation. The TGB consists of Rev. Bob Hemphill (chair), Rev. Bob McFarland, Rev. Greg Stiner, Rev. Joe Allyn, and myself.
If you are an RP minister or a student under care, eligible to receive a call and interested in candidating – please let me know. Even if you are not interested in a call, but willing to encourage the saints here by preaching the Word, also, please let me know. We have a great need for pulpit ministry! The congregation is able to provide for your travel expenses and give you an honorarium for preaching.
To learn more about the group, please visit their website here. If you know folks in Columbia who are looking for a church, please inform them of this congregation.
If you have been interested in relocating to Columbia, but didn’t know the RPCNA has a work here – this is a great time to seek God’s will in that matter, particularly if you have a desire to see Christ grow His Church!
If you have mission minded young people who are interested in the University of Missouri (https://missouri.edu/) and interested in advancing the church, this would be a great congregation for them to serve in.
Above all, please continue to pray for these dear saints. We are eager to see how God will use them with the rest of His Church as He continues to put all things under Christ’s feet (Ephesians 1:22, 1 Corinthians 15:25, Hebrews 2:8, Romans 16:20).
