Each year the Cloughmills congregation host a series of weekday services especially focused on reaching the lost. It gives us an opportunity to explicitly invite everyone in our area to hear the Gospel, focuses our prayers, and our individuals efforts at reaching those the Lord has placed within our sphere of influence.
Peter Dundee, a recent graduate from the Reformed Theological College, preached on Psalm 19 each night. Beginning with the question ‘Is this it?, he showed how Psalm 19 makes it clear that through creation God has told us this world is not all there is. Yet he has spoken more clearly through his Word, and demands a response from us.
Attendance was relatively small, with nobody coming because of the invitation drop in the area. However, each night we had at least one individual coming as a result of personal invitation, someone we had been explicitly praying for. This was an encouragement to the congregation.
- Pray that the Lord would open hearts through the word that was proclaimed.
- Pray for the members as they follow up with these family members and friends.
- Pray that there would be at least one person willing to do Christianity Explored as a result of this work.
