On Lord’s Day the 13th May, we had the joy of seeing Donnie and Joyce Johnson, Desmond and Caitriona Scott, and Catherine Quigley come into membership. The Johnsons and Scotts both began attending Airdrie after moving to towns nearby, and Catherine is a covenant child of the congregation.
The sacrament of the Lord’s Supper also took place, and Rev. Andrew Quigley preached on the marriage of the Lamb and His Bride from Revelation 19:1-10. It was a very encouraging sermon – pointing us to our heavenly Bridegroom and reminding us of the truth of the Gospel, that this was a match made in eternity, that there was nothing in the Bride to draw the Bridegroom to her, but He set His love on her, He suffered and died for her, and He is making her holy and beautiful. It was a joyful day, but there was also an element of sadness as we were aware that this was our last Communion with Rev. Quigley as our minister, so to be reminded to set our eyes on what awaits in Heaven was a great blessing.
