Each year the Irish Synod sets aside one day where we, as a body, come before the Lord in prayer. Each year the appointed ‘Day of Prayer’ is hosted by a different presbytery and this year it took place in Bready (south of Londonderry) in the Western Presbytery.

The prayer times are specific, with topics for prayer chosen beforehand. The moderator, Prof Norris Wilson preached from Colossians 4; 2-28 where Paul requested prayer for open doors to the Gospel. This was followed by specific, focused times of prayer – prayer for the revival of the church, for men to come forward for ministry and for the the work of Global Alliance in the strengthening of the reformed witness throughout the world.

It was encouraging to pray together as a church where so many take this seriously and we really value these extra times of fellowship throughout the year.
