With a New Year fast approaching, many of you will be looking for a new daily devotional book. We have one we think you should add to your collection!

Pastor Gordon Keddie is originally from Scotland where he studied at the University of Edinburgh before moving to the states to attend Westminster Theological Seminary and thereafter, the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Gordon first served as pastor of the RP church in State College, Pennsylvania and then latterly served for many years in the RP congregation in Southside Indianapolis, Indiana, before retiring from the active duties of ministry in 2014.

During his time in the pastoral ministry, Pastor Keddie also wrote a number of books, perhaps most notably his Bible commentaries (part of the Welwyn series published by Evangelical Press) which include books on Amos, Acts, James, John, Judges, Numbers, Ruth, and Samuel.

This year the RPCNA publishing house, Crown and Covenant, are publishing a new 366 day devotional by Pastor Keddie entitled Prayers of the Bible. They say that this book is:

The fruit of more than thirty years of prayer meetings undertaken in the congregations Keddie pastored, these two-page meditations on prayer serve as a means of grace. All the main prayers of Scripture are included, as are many of the passages that teach about prayer.

Each day offers a balanced diet of praise, prayer and the ministry of the Word and will encourage you to commit to the consistent exercise and enjoyment of prayer.”

Popular Reformed podcast 3GT interviewed Gordon on their most recent episode and said afterwards “His newest book offers 366 prayers of the Bible in a two-page, daily format. Each day contains an inspiring, pithy devotional in Gordon’s inimitable style, a suggested psalm portion to accompany it, and space to write down particular prayers.” For more information about the book, or to be in with a chance of winning a copy of the book, you can listen to the interview here.

Gordon is a Reformed Presbyterian pastor with a wealth of experience, and we believe this book, like his many others, will be of great benefit to believers in the church. Released on Monday, the book is currently available to pre-order, and is also available in a leatherette gift edition, which can be personalized. Visit this webpage for more information.
