Topeka, Kansas — Members of the Topeka Reformed Presbyterian Church labored together to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to their neighborhood and their covenant children July 17-21. Some forty children gathered together each evening for two hours to grow together around the theme of the VICTORY! we have as Christians through Jesus Christ.
Over the course of the week children learned that we can have Victory through Courage (Joshua), Victory through Obedience (Gideon), Victory through Unity (Esther), and Victory through Jesus (Gospel Focus). Each evening began with singing and an opening skit. Then students cycled through stations (games, snack, story time, crafts) that related in various ways to the evening’s theme. On the final night of Vacation Bible School children and their parents were invited to a VBS picnic, followed by a brief presentation for parents then outdoor games — complete with a water gun fight!
Mrs. Shelly Keller of Topeka RPC coordinated the curriculum, service roles for church members, and the organization and decoration of the church building. We thank the Lord for each child brought through the church doors and for the ministry of the Gospel of Christ that took place evening by evening. It is such a privilege to co-labor with fellow members of Christ’s church to bless young people with the ministry of God’s Word. Pray with Topeka RPC that the Lord Jesus would effectually call each and every one of these young people to Himself!
