Ask a child for a favorite summer memory and they will likely say, “VBS!” Often those memories will be built around friendships or activities. But the hope at Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia, PA in the USA is that these children will meet Jesus and embrace the Gospel during those hot summer days.  This year, as in past years, Grace had the help of young people from Theological Foundations for Youth. Despite already being tired from a week of classes at the seminary, these young people provide energy, excitement, and a lot of help to make the program a success.  This year Viktoriya, Wren, Ben, and Michael all worked hard alongside of the Grace congregation in order to make this year’s VBS a special event for the children.

The days would begin with a brief introduction setting up the topic of the day.  This was followed by the various age groups rotating through classes, crafts, and games.  The day came to an end with the much anticipated play! Every year the young people at Grace put on a wonderful little production for the youth.  This year’s play and curriculum was from Answers in Genesis and featured a young man who moved to the Arctic to get away from it all.  However, like Jonah, he found that running from God was not a viable option.  The kids watched as he came to the end of himself in the cold Arctic and had his heart warmed by the life giving Holy Spirit of God.

We are thankful to God that this year we ministered to about thirty children most of which were from the congregation but four were from the community.  Please pray that God will bring his gospel to the minds and hearts of our children and those children He brought to us from the community.  Please pray that it all might be to his glory.
