A team comprised of faculty and administrators from member schools of the Association of Theological Schools conducted a visit at RPTS (the RP seminary in America) from March 27-30 to see whether they thought the seminary should be re-accredited. Here is a message from RPTS about the visit:
It was an encouraging time of reflection and of looking forward as our visitors met with students, alumni, professors, staff, board members, and local pastors who have overseen student internships. While they had much work to accomplish in a short period of time, we still were able to enjoy fellowship over meals and a time of worship in chapel together.
The team included Dr. Wanda Lundy from New York Theological Seminary, Dr. Barbara Mutch from the Association of Theological Schools, Dr. Greg Carey from Lancaster Theological Seminary, Dr. Robert Cara from Reformed Theological Seminary, and Rev. Kyle Borg, RPCNA pastor from Winchester, Kansas. Rev. Borg was included on the visiting team as a practitioner, someone with an in-depth knowledge of the denomination, yet not a graduate of RPTS. The formal decision regarding our accreditation status will be made in June when the ATS Board of Commissioners meets to review the recommendations made for schools which received visits this spring. Thank you all for your prayers!
