The 57th annual St. Lawrence Family Conference was held at Silver Lake in Maberly, Ontario, from Friday, September 1st to Monday, September 4th. The conference was well attended this year with more than two hundred and sixty attendees over the course of the weekend. We were truly blessed by the time of fellowship and learning, and heartened by the evidence of the Lord’s gracious provision in upholding this ministry over the years. We were thankful to be able to sit under the solid Biblical teaching provided by our keynote speaker, Rev. Andrew Quigley from Airdrie, Scotland. Rev. Quigley gave four messages on the theme of trusting God, using the narrative of Joseph found in Genesis 37-50 to both challenge and encourage his listeners.

Attendees also participated in many fun activities, including our annual talent show (with a special appearance of “Elders Got Talent”), Cèilidh dance, volleyball tournament, psalm sing, swimming, boating, and archery. This year we again had representatives from Reformed Book Services in Brantford, Ontario attend the conference on Friday and Saturday to sell books. They left encouraged by the appetite shown for reformed, Christian literature.

Many of those at this year’s conference have been faithfully attending for 15-20 years. Others came as children and youth and are now returning with their own young families. Additionally, every year we have a several new families who attend and are greatly blessed by their time at the conference. All those who come never leave without being refreshed and renewed by the faithful preaching of God’s Word and encouraged by fellowship with our faithful brothers and sisters in Christ.
